Description: A rare hard to find Onyx marble and gilt bronze metal mounted pedestal, with square top above scrolling leaf cast socles and column, supports, raised on stepped platform base. Now into a hundred years of use the whole was sent to a stone mason to reform the cracked top to solid stone and polish the pillar to original color and hue. The new top was cut from the original stone by laser and is perfect, made from the original stone. The bronze was cleaned in this process to remove accumulation of time. The cleaning process brought back the rich golden green tone marble with tan to brown accents. The Bronze work features fine details and is cast exceptionally well. No wobble or loose parts. The Bronze is bright now but will soon turn back to a rich green patina or you can keep it polished. Bronze ages well and looks amazing next to the green and brown tones of the stone. A very visually pleasing work of art. Perfect for statue display. Please note there are nibs along the base probably from cleaning machine/vacuum contact left to provide the work with age and use. These do not detract from the beauty of the art form. The Onyx stand will ship freight and heavy. It will require a wood crate to be built for shipment, included in ship costs. It will probably ship UPS due to weight but if it can go Fed Ex we will use that option. IF you are buying within 100 miles of Gainesville Florida we may arrange a courier.
