All of these black and white Ordnance Department photos are 10" by 8 1/8" and all but a handful are from WWII with the others being Korean War era photos.We have had these for quite awhile and have decided that they would be better in other's collections, or used by those restoring WWII era vehicles and weapons, versus a cardboard Kodak photo box sitting on our shelf.Roughly 1/2 of them are original period photos and the other half are professional copies that we had made of the original period photo that we sold to a collector. All original photos will indicate that they are original in the description and title, if there is room. All professional copies will indicate that they are professional copies of the original photo in the description.We will be listing all of the photos in the coming days and we are happy to combine shipping at $3.50 for the first photo and $1.00 for each additional photo.Now onto the item for sale.For sale is an original Vietnam War era Aberdeen Proving Ground photo from the Ordnance Department.eBay's Vietnam War category only runs from 1961-1975, although the war started in 1955. Obviously, we weren't anywhere near as involved in the war at the beginning, but some may refer to this as a Vietnam era photograph and others may refer to it as a Cold War era photograph. This photo shows an SS-10 Guided Missile and is dated 5-6-1960.The SS-10 was made by French aircraft manufacturer Nord Aviation. The U.S. Army decided to use them in February 1959 and the first missile was delivered in January 1960, just a bit before this photo was taken. In American service, the missile was referred to as the MGM-21A.This photo is in excellent condition with great original gloss.This item will be shipped in a padded envelope via media mail with the USPS.
