Description: From an adult collector - amazing bundle lot of EARLY Pleasant Company Samantha's Nature Paraphernalia, Summer Amusements, and Middy Outfit. Samantha's Middy Outfit is tagged 1989. The dress has three pieces of Velcro on the back, and has no marks, rips, or stains. Snap and ribbon are intact. The tam (hat) is also in great shape. The two tone high button boots have the rounded heel - no issues. Brass whistle is still shiny and bright, with original string. The Nature's Paraphernalia Set includes pack basket with leather shoulder straps, along with a bouquet of black-eyed Susans, still tied with black and white checkered ribbon. Also included: butterfly net, two magnetic butterflies (missing one), a magnifying glass to study them, and a wooden flower press that really works! In addition, Pleasant Company FIRST VERSION of Samantha's Summer Amusements Set is included as well. Set includes a wooden painter's box with gold hinges and latch (works perfectly)- attached brown cord handle with gold brads and trim. The bottom has sections for paint tubes. The first edition has six sections in two three-row columns - making this a first edition set. The inner lid has attached elastic cord with loop to store paintbrush and palette. All looks to be unused, although the paint tubes look like they were squeezed, but not opened. Six tubes of functional watercolor paint in silver metal tubes with white caps and black labels. Colors included: Lemon Yellow, Carmine (red), Vermilion (red-orange), Viridian (green), Cobalt Blue, and Chinese White. I imagine they all must be dried up after all these years...but the tubes still look full. There is also a black handled flat paint brush with silver ferrule and brown bristles that is firmly attached along with the wooden painter's palette. There are a few very slight scuffs in the wood. A stuffed faux-buckram pine scented square pillow ("I PINE FOR YOU") has an inner stuffing that simulates pine needles. Samantha's red cover sketchbook is bound with a thin black ribbon. The title page: "Happy Memories of Teardrop Island: Sketches and Watercolors by Lydia" There are five "watercolor" images included: Family Picnic, Summer 1897: Samantha, Lydia, and Mr. Parkington on a family picnic (lower image: picnic basket).Baby Samantha at the split rock: toddler Samantha sitting next to a large split rock (lower image: three rocks).Picking flowers with Father: Samantha and Mr. Parkington standing near a lake (lower image: wildflowers with leaves).Samantha at the Waterfall, 1897: Samantha and her father wading in a pond near a waterfall (lower image: monarch butterfly on a flower ).Good-bye to the island: Samantha on her father's shoulders near the lakeside by a canoe (lower image: water lilies).All other pages are blank.
