Started as Cassell & Co a British book publishing house, and it was one of the leading publishing companies. It was founded by John Cassell (18171865) .... During the time of publishing this book, the general manager was Sir Arthur Spurgeon (1861-1938), journalist, writer, editor, publisher, and civil servant ....
