Description: This rare 1930s Belgian “Vander Elst“ litho hinged tobacco tin, measuring 3” x 4 1/2” x 1”, is in very good condition with no rust or dents and some very minor age related paint scratches and chips. Much of the original high gloss finish remains. The hinge is in excellent working order. This highly attractive multicolored tin was made by J. Schuybroek. Hoboken-Anvers, Belgium. It features a whimsical image of a colonial gentleman wearing a red jacket and straw hat, holding a bunch of tobacco leaves.The tobacco was manufactured by Tabacofina-Vander Elst Freres, Anvers-Louvan, Belgium.
