Rare Near Mint Browning Golden Eagle Mark II Base Station Powers On No Transmit

Description: An extremely clean and cosmetically near mint Browning Mark II CB Transceiver that powers on and receives signals clearly. This radio has been tested using a properly tuned CB base antenna and found to have a nice receiver but also found to have a transmitter issue. The Mark II transmitter shows wattage when a microphone is keyed up, but makes a humming sound that is audible in the transmission a a loud buzzing noise. When the microphone is spoken into the meter shows no swing and no audio is heard in the transmission other than the humming. The tubes warm up in both units. There are no issues that I could find with the receiver but based on the transmitter issue I am selling the set for restoration only with no returns. I do not have the equipment or knowledge to diagnose the exact cause of this problem with the transmitter. The cabinets have been carefully removed from both units to reveal the circuitry for inspection, this is detailed in the photos for your consideration. This unit is priced accordingly to account for the transmitter issue, but cosmetically this is one of the nicest Mark II radios that has been offered for sale in recent years. This system is near mint in every cosmetic aspect except for a few light scratches on the sides of the cabinets, the faceplate is indistinguishable from new with absolutely no marks on it. This beautiful radio was part of a massive lifetime estate collection consisting of over 40 base stations and dozens of boxes of related equipment. This radio was likely purchased new by the previous owner and has been off the market for decades. Due to the vintage of the equipment listed, the functional issue, and parts swappers, I am selling this as a collectible only with no returns accepted. I will not accept returns on any radio equipment over 30 years old. This item will be sent in a well padded box and insured to protect against any potential damage during shipping.
