Description: Listed here is a genuine DOLLOND of London brass 4 draw telescope. The link below gives some useful information about the item and history of the family run company which designed and created these top rated and industry leading instruments. The telescope dates from the 19th Century, possibly from circa 1810 - again please see the information from a serious collector on the link below. It is in remarkably good condition for an item that is over 200 years old and comes complete with the original protective leather case. When collapsed it is 15cm long in the leather case, extended it measures 36cm. There were many imitators of Dollonds in the 19th century, all of which were inferior. The fakes can be easily identified as DOLLOND was spelled as DOLLAND, to get around legal issues from imitating the trading name. The telescopes may also be dated, roughly, by the script/font used when engraving Dolland of London. Again, this instrument is in excellent condition. Feel free to ask for more images etc as you wish. The postage rate is at his rate to cover insurance on the value when in transit.
