The hardback has a nice art nouveau design. This particular 1st edition was printed in 1899 by Grosset &,Dunlap, New York City. It’s divided into three sections: Book One, Book Two, Book Three. Characters in the novel are listed on a separate page. (Something I wish all books had.) There are 519 pages plus five more at the end promoting other books. Condition: For being 123 years old this book is in pretty good shape. Hardback color has faded, the most dramatically on the spine. As you can see from my pictures the spine is loosing.
