Description: Measuring about 8" x 11", and 191 pages long, this hardback German language song book is "Sammtliche Lieder fur eine Singstimme mit Klavierbegleitung, Band 1, fur hohe Stimme" by Robert Schumann, revised by Alfred Doerffel. Published in Leipzig by C. F. Peters, it is undated, but the extremely decorative binding suggests late 19th or early 20th century. It is in used and worn condition, with a hinge crack at the front end paper that has left the first four pages (including the FFEP) connected to each other but separated from the binding. Otherwise, the binding is nice and tight, but there are many pages with handwritten inscriptions, both in the margins and in the scores, as well as a variety of ownership inscriptions and stampings on the front free end paper. The cover is faded around the spine and has some scuffs and stains and edge wear, especially at the corners and the spine ends.
