Description: ROYAL COAT OF ARMS ANTIQUE BEADED NEEDLEPOINT HERALDIC FAMILY CREST PILLOW You are looking at an antique 19th century needlepoint and beaded heraldic ROYAL COAT OF ARMS OF THE UNITED KINGDON banner turned into a wonderfully historic pillow. This is the official coat of arms (adopted in 1837) of the British Monarch currently Queen Elizabeth II. It features a unicorn and a lion. This beaded needlepoint tapestry is in great condition. I don't see any missing needlepoint stitches and only a few missing beads mostly in the lion. These beaded crests are so hard to find these days. The crest measures 13” round. Around the family crest is a circle of white beaded flowers with green leaves. Around the tapestry there is a vintage metallic lace trim. It’s on green velvet on the front and a multi color paisley velvet on the back. There is an antique gold metallic cord around the whole pillow and two French antique metallic gold tassels on the top corners. This pillow measures approx. 20” x 20”. It has a feather and down insert for a plush look and feel. There is a hidden zipper closure for your convenience. The entire pillow is lined for extra durability. This wonderful historic pillow screams royalty. If you want an instant link to nobility then casually display this pillow. Or perhaps this is your family crest for real. I’ve done a little research and have found out what certain sybols mean. The Scotish unicorn was believed to be dangerous. Therefore there is a chain around the unicorn. In the shield the first and fouth quadrents with lions represents England, the second lone lion represents Scotland and the harp represents Ireland. The motto reads Dieu et Mon Droit which means God and my right. The pillow is in newly created condition. It marries the old and historic (beaded needlepoint crest and all the trims) with the new (fabric and insert). It comes from a smoke free home.
