Description: Offered is an original World War Two production United States Navy Mark 1 Training Bayonet, together with its correct original US Navy MK1 Scabbard, manufactured for use with the U.S. Navy Mark 1 Dummy Training rifle. These training bayonets will also fit both the M1 Garand and the Model 1903 Springfield rifles. This full-length 16” plastic bladed bayonet is marked USN Mark 1 on one side of the blade and is marked with its contract production number on the other side, together with PBCo (looks like PBC) in fancy script on the other. PBCo represents the manufacturer, Prophylactic Brush Co. of Florence, Mass. These training bayonets were made with plastic and aluminum. Given their inherent fragility, they had a very low survival rate. This one, completely original and unmodified, presents is superb condition, with only a very small nick in the plastic blade (as pictured in photo 9). The lock/release button functions as it should. Similarly, its correct original US Navy MK1 scabbard has only minor wear and is without cracks or splits. Overall, an excellent and quite scarce World War Two Navy training bayonet that would make a fine addition to a collection (as it has mine for years). Domestic shipping only.
