James Asheton Bayard Jr. (1799–1880) was an American statesman who served as a U.S. Senator from Delaware. Known for his moderation, diplomacy, and oratorical skills, Bayard Jr. navigated the turbulent political waters of the mid-19th century with integrity and commitment to public service.
