A GORGEOUS AND RARE 1926 HALL MARKED ART DECO GENUINE HIGH QUALITY MAN’S (PROBABLY NOW CLASSED AS UNISEX) SOLID VERY RARE 18K TWO TONE WHITE AND YELLOW GOLD SLIM WATCH IN LOVELY ORIGINAL CONDITION. CASE: This is an absolutely beautiful solid 18k WHITE GOLD BEZEL AND YELLOW GOLD snap back beautiful slim ART DECO squared watch case. The case is in good condition. Both bezel and back are peg located and snap to really well. The STUNNING 18 carat WHITE gold bezel is in lovely original condition showing light marks and nicks. The case back shows only light wear marks and one light ding. It has a beautiful engraved inscription consisting of three initials and a date for 1928. The beautiful case sides are excellent with NO dings that I can see. The extended solid gold lugs are beautiful. The inside of the case is engraved with the mark of 18k gold and has London Assay marks dating it to 1926. The case is well made and measures 2.9cms (29mm) across excluding the lugs and crown. DIAL: This is a wonderful ORIGINAL fantastic condition with a good even patina ART DECO dial. The dial is in good condition and is nice as the EXPLODED Arabic numerals are a gorgeous sharp black color. All of the numerals are nice and clear. The dial is unsigned. It has no hairlines and only minor normal age related marks that I can see. The dial has 2 fantastic contemporary designed blued steel hands which look to be in excellent condition with just a little oxidisation. The crystal is plastic and is in excellent condition. MOVEMENT: This is a wonderful genuine high grade quality 15 jewels Alpina movement. It is un-signed. The crown is white metal and shows some age related wear. The movement is in working condition. It has kept decent time as tested over the last 24 hours to within approximately 1 min per day. As always a full service would be recommended for optimum performance and timekeeping. It winds and sets as it should with decent friction. BAND: This beautiful 18 carat white/yellow gold wristwatch has been fitted with a beautiful black leather open ended band. As such it is in new condition and has not been worn. It compliments this stunning wrist watch beautifully!
