Description: Fresh estate Find. Just discovered from an estate sale located in Bucks County PA . All original Dayton Son-ny Sonny circa 1920s in untouched condition with original hard to find slip-on cab roof that is usually missing from this particular piece, and most importantly, the paint is 100% original throughout with no repairs whatsoever. I also noticed that this particular example has slip-on covers that wrap around the tires, and if you look at the pictures, all 4 wheels have their covers that protect the wheels, which I thought was worth noting. It's pretty much a hard shell that overlaps( refer to picture #23 ). You will find on other examples that most are either missing or they simply broke away through the years, and this piece has all four, and yes, they all originally had them when they were first made. The body is in very nice condition with no dings or dents as pictured. The truck measures approximately 26.50" in length. Steering wheel works accordingly and steers the tires to the right and left. Side lever allows the bed to go up and down and stays in place and works perfectly. Original working tailgate. Considering the age, I believe it's safe to say that the paint is in very nice condition with some areas of discoloration in the bed to the red that has turned to a dark orangish color and some light surface spots of rust only and could be cleaned off by the right experienced individual if desired... personally, I would leave it exactly the way it is, but that's just my opinion. The truck is untouched and could use a light cleaning as there's obvious dust and grime and again I absolutely believe it would clean up to a better grade as I only lightly wiped it gently to get some of dust off simply for the pictures. I didn't want to attempt any cleaning because I didn't want to disturb the paint in any way. It has areas of age related paint loss as shown, but overall, it's a really solid early example that's seldom seen in this condition and not tampered with. If I MISSED ANYTHING in the DESCRIPTION, please refer to the pictures. I take all 24 pictures so you can get a good look at what you will receive however if you would like some additional pictures or any information regarding this piece please feel free to contact me at and I will get back to you ASAP .
