Soviet Medal Order of the Red Star, 1945, Researched

Description: Soviet Russian USSR WWII medal Order of the Red Star with serial number in the 2.6 million range, researched, awarded in 1945 to Private Ivan Murushkin for cumulative service in WWII. Per the award citation: he joined the Red Army on 23 June 1941, was severely wounded in March 1942, and thereafter due to his condition was relegated to service as a wagon driver, where he nevertheless proved himself by carrying ammo and supplies to the front under enemy fire. Murushkin was previously awarded a Bravery Medal in 1944. Per the information in the citation for that award (which conflicts with the information in the Red Star citation): during the summer 1944 offensive, Murushkin was serving as a machine gunner and by laying down fire, he aided his unit's advance. A large number of enemy troops were killed, and 200 vehicles and 50 guns were captured. Condition is as seen in the images! Enamel on the 12 o'clock arm is replaced. The serial number of the award is authentic and matches the serial number shown in the archival documents, obviously!
