The barb insert connection fits inside the layflat or oval hose and requires clamping to secure in place. The spigot end is the equivalent of a male PVC connection, meaning the outside diameter of the spigot end is the same size as the outside diameter of the PVC pipe of the same nominal size, thus requiring a slip (socket) PVC fitting to connect the two. Notes: The 1 1/2" fitting is a standard Schedule 40 PVC fitting; sizes 2" - 6" are UV protected materials; the 8" fitting is not UV protected material.
