NOTE: There are some little chips to the rose petals and some minor harder-to-see Crazing. (SEE Pictures with Pen) Very Nice S-Quire Ceramics of California pair of figurines. These are period figures of a Dutch boy and girl. They are standing on tan oval bases and wearing pale yellow wooden shoes. They are dressed in blue. He is wearing a red neckerchief, and she is wearing a white apron with a floral trim. Each has a pot with a pink flower and green leaves next to their right foot. He is holding his cap in his left hand with his right hand in his pocket. She is holding another pot of flowers. They both say S-Quire Ceramics California and Figurine by Zaida on the bottom. She shows the number 203, and he shows the number 202 and Hand Decorated. They date from 1943-1950. The boy measures 7" High x 4 1/8" Wide at the widest point. She measures 6" and 4 1/8" Wide at the widest point. I have provided a lot of pictures to best describe the condition of this pair of figurines. Artist Zaida was the daughter of Al Sears, a silent movie personality. She became a dancer and figure model before turning to art. For more information see picture #.
