Description: A stylish Lenzkirch Oak Mantel or Bracket clock. The clock is in great original, full working condition, chiming the hours and half hour on a coiled gong. It has been cleaned, polished, movement serviced and oiled and the springs greased. The movement is lovely and in excellent condition and has a deadbeat escapement to enhance accurate time keeping. The oak case has a rich deep patina and is in original condition. The case features a polished brass carrying handle, finials and mountings, with turned wooden columns flanking the dial. The brass dial has a silvered chapter ring with matted centre and is surrounded by gilded brass spandrels. The clock hands are blued steel. The front door compliments the case and has a pair of pierced gilded brass mountings above the glass and a silvered dial reflector mounted to the back. The door is secured with a pull-push mechanism resembling a key. The sides of the case have rectangular sound frets with brass mesh backed by burgundy silk. The rear door is oak and secured with a brass Lenzkirch slide bolt. The case is supported on decorated gilded brass claw feet. Under the case, stuck to the sound board is a Model label, No 95. The movement is stamped Lenzkirch 41, Serial Number 792663 2, dating it to approximately 1917. It is running smoothly and keeps good time.
