Description: RARE Belgian Original Re-Release Movie Poster On Map - The Drum (1938) aka Drums, Sabu Dastagir, Raymond Massey, Roger Livesey, Valerie Hobson, Alexander Korda, Zoltan Korda, British Empire, Raj, India, Technicolor Here is an original Belgian movie poster from the 1st re-release of Zoltan Korda's epic adventure film set in Raj era India, The Drum. Unabashedly pro-Raj, the story of a young Indian Prince and his friendship with some British army types. The release of this film was reported to have sparked anti-British riots in India. This poster is from the first re-release of the movie in Belgium shortly after the end of the war in Europe, probably 1946 or early 1947. It is printed on the reverse of an ordnance map and in the smaller immediate post-war format which was common practice in order to conserve paper. The striking artwork is unique to this Belgian release poster which seldom comes up for sale or auction. A few pinholes in the corners of the borders. Some slight crinkling of the paper around the borders. Artwork is completely intact. Printed on the back of a map. Originally folded as issued, this poster has been stored flat for the past 21 years and will be shipped rolled in a sturdy tube or box.
