Description: Around 40 years ago in the 1980's my wife gave me this Connecticut Valley Arms Sheath Knife Kit as a birthday present.. It came with a wood handle, leather lacing for the natural color leather sheath, and a leather lace for the hilt retention. I spent many, many hours in my basement workshop building and customizing this blade. I spent hours shaping a bone for the handle. I dyed the sheath black and switched out the sheath lacing for black rivets. The hilt retention strap was upgraded to a nickel snap system. Blade length: 7 inches. CVA had these kits manufactured in Spain, Italy, Taiwan, Japan and USA. This one is Taiwan made. If you look at others you'll sometimes notice flaws and a lower quality in the brass castings. The brass parts on this are well formed. This knife went into my collection and has had zero use. Never sharpened or honed- it has its original factory edge. I recently dissasembled the knife completely and polished all the brass components, polished the stainless steel blade, treated the sheath with leather conditioner and reassembled the whole shebang and its ready to go. When you unsnap the holding strap with your thumb and draw this knife from the sheath it just feels right. The beautiful bone handle fits the hand just the way it should. Note that you if are right handed the rounded side of the hilt fits the palm perfectly, and the part where your fingers grip the handle is flat. The grip feels natural. See the photos and video. This blade is gorgeous! You'll love it. Bid with confidence. Pete Update 9/15/2024: Price reduction.
