Description: Here is a set of 34 quilt blocks in the Grandmother's Choice pattern, #1847 in the Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns by Barbara Brackman. It is categorized as an Unequal Nine Patch of Specific Construction. Pattern is also known as a Shoofly Variation. Blocks are hand pieced and each measures approximately 9" to 9 1/2" square. Each block is constructed of two cotton fabrics. Materials are from a time span ranging from perhaps the late 1800s to early 1900s. Please note in some cases, there is not enough seam allowance to protect the triangle corners when stitching with a standard 1/4" seam. These are primarily clean with a spot here and there, please use the zoom feature on the photos to view condition. The last photo shows the back of one block. Item is for only the pictured blocks, no other materials or instructions are included. All of the blocks are pictured.
