Description: Vintage Sailor Suit Bear Dean's Rag Knock About Toy Fabric Doll 8.5" This lovely vintage bear came from the non-smoking, pet-friendly home of a friend who is downsizing her late mother's doll collection. I believe that the pattern for this bear was made by the original maker of an antique toy bear, as an exact replica of the original. Dean's Rag Book Company began in London in 1903. They begain by making printed kits for their dolls and stuffed animals, but then began selling them fully assembled, as well. This reproduction bear was issued, I believe, in the early 1980s. Bear is in lovely shape. He sits unassisted at about 8.5 inches tall. He has normal light handling wear but no holes or soiling beyond some scuffing to the base.
