It has not been used and was stored for many years wrapped in its original box. The 11.5" x 12" box shows some fading but the star looks like almost new.........I'd SAY "new", but since it's not, I'll just say...WOW! Perfect for any use you can imagine and not just holidays....gold decor is universal and suitable for all occasions and events, whether holiday, Christmas, wedding, parties, star party (buy a star online for your loved one and present in their own gold star!)....to an everyday decor item that holds candy, potpourri, greenery and cinnamon and more! Line with colored velvet for a gift or jewelry presentation. Mount on the fireplace mantel, or on the wall like a shadow box/star with a miniature photo of the "star" in your life (pets allowed). Use in a bath with scented soaps or monogrammed hand towels. Fill with scented sachets by your bed to take a whiff of sleep-inducing essential oils, like lavender. I would not recommend using it for any unwrapped edible items unless you put something in the dish first, but use a sheer cloth to let the gold shine through and fill with wrapped cookies and treats.
