Description: You are bidding on a SUPERB and VERY RARE example of a veteran acquired WW2 Imperial Japanese Army Summer Side Cap! This appears to be field-made. Made of a woven plant-based material (straw or bamboo?), this field cap is in SUPERB used condition. As this appears to be field-made, there are no maker's marks or stamps. Possibly had a metal Army Star attached at one point, but cannot see any evidence of such. Chin strap is also complete. A bit stiff, there are some slight marks due to the age, but no holes or damage! The VERY interesting feature is that is still retains the original hand-written tag, with both the Soldier's Name and Unit ID! Would make a SUPERB addition to any collection or display!
