Description: Here is a US Army Crossed Rifles Infantry Officer Uniform Pin. The Pin was originally created in 1875 to help the infantry branch's uniforms match the artillery (crossed canons) and cavalry (crossed swords). While there has been a couple of design changes, the Army decided, in 1924, to make the 1795 Springfield Armory Musket the primary design for the crossed insignia, which it has remained unchanged since. The condition is good. The pattern on the reverse is a hallmark of a WWII or earlier pin, as well as the clutchbacks. Shipped with USPS Ground Advantage
